Before starting work on The Next Web Conference, I shot down to the lovely city of Utrecht to cover the Amazon Web Services Summit. A nicely staged event where I worked with Esther from Lef Marketing and Events.

Amazon’s CTO, Dr. Werner Volgels lead the opening keynote that lasted well over two hours. This was the first time that I’d seen an event presented in this way. Meaning, instead of having one speaker leave the stage, moderator, intro, and then next speaker, Werner stayed on stage while each individual speaker had their time. This facilitated things massively, and kept the programme right on schedule. In fact, we finished 12 minutes ahead of time.
